[You return to the crossroads and head east.

The eastern path goes a distance before ending, at which point it turns to the north for a short distance.

At the end of the northern path, there is an iron gate with vines growing all over its bars, locked with a single lock. If you were to try to attack this lock, however, it wouldn't break no matter how much you tried. The vines are covered in little pink flowers.]

For a brief moment, everyone present is engulfed in a warm, golden light. It's impossible to see anything past, but it's not painful to the eyes, anyway.



Two unfamiliar voices echo from somewhere.

Does it have to be? I'm allowed to like things other than my favorite, right? Besides, my favorite doesn't grow here.

When the light dies down, past the air that has suddenly gathered a large cloud of glittering pollen, you can see that beyond the gate opens up to a clearing with a small stone bench in the center, around which grow beautiful stalks of flowers. There's no other exit aside from the one you came in.]

[She's pretty sure she knows what Lace is getting at, but darned if she's going to react negatively to a veiled threat. She does head for the exit as best she can remember, though.]

If yes, great! It shouldn't be too hard to backtrack, then.

If no, if you look carefully at each intersection, you might be able to spot a tiny white flower in the hedge to mark the correct path back. Were those there before...?]
